Weekend Workshop in Bangkok: Advancing Climate Justice
Weekend Workshop in Bangkok: Advancing Climate Justice
How can we, as a community, drive meaningful action on climate justice for health equity? That was the central question guiding the Equity Initiative Climate Justice Strategic Planning Workshop in Bangkok this past weekend.
Over two days, senior E.I Fellows, staff, and regional partners came together to explore the intersection of climate change and health inequities in Southeast Asia and China. The workshop aimed to establish a shared understanding of the regional landscape, define EI’s unique role, and develop a concrete action plan to contribute to this critical space.
Through in-depth discussions led by E.I Fellows and hands-on working sessions, we explored how political decisions, economic disparities, and social structures are driving climate-related health inequities in our region. We assessed the strengths within the E.I network, highlighted gaps in regional efforts, and identified where we could make the most impact.
A key outcome of the workshop was the development of an E.I Community Action Plan, outlining next steps and commitments. With this foundation in place, the focus now shifts to implementation through impactful initiatives and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together.
