Grateful to be invited for the opportunity to join ‘PerMATA‘, a dedicated team of UBD medical students committed to raising awareness about cataract-induced blindness and the significance of early intervention.

 

The PerMATA group has been travelling across Brunei, conducting talks and eye screening in the community. They have also collected data to measure the level of awareness and understanding of cataracts and blindness among the participants.

 

Their findings will also be compiled into a report that will be useful for policy makers and health professionals to improve patient care. Their goal is to help the community at large to understand the prevalence and impact of cataracts in Brunei. News article here
