Women Equality Panel – Brunei Womenpreneur Network

Speaking on the panel for was such an enriching experience. Organised by the fantastic Brunei Womenpreneur Network, a diverse range of individuals came together with a shared belief – that when we support and empower each other and challenge ourselves to do more and be more, we create a better society for everybody.
After sharing experiences in our careers, we discussed societal expectations, gender differences and opportunities to build stronger connections and bridges.
I believe that we are all responsible for improving the lives of others and when we have influence, we must use it to give a voice to those without it.

“Where, after all, do universal human rights begin? In small places, close to home – so close and so small that they cannot be seen on any maps of the world. Yet they are the world of the individual person; the neighborhood he lives in; the school or college he attends; the factory, farm, or office where he works. Such are the places where every man, woman, and child seeks equal justice, equal opportunity, equal dignity without discrimination. Unless these rights have meaning there, they have little meaning anywhere. Without concerted citizen action to uphold them close to home, we shall look in vain for progress in the larger world.”
-Eleanor Roosevelt
