The Brunei National Youth Congress 2019
So thrilled to have played a part in the 2019 National Youth Congress moderating a panel discussion for leaders in youth participation and a dialogue session between Cabinet and Deputy Ministers. It’s been amazing to see how much everyone came together to make the event so meaningful.
Meeting those who have achieved so much from volunteers, NGO founders, students, teachers, entrepreneurs and more is a precious reminder that with perseverance and integrity, we can overcome even the most difficult challenges.
A huge thank you and congrats to everyone involved who worked so hard to put this event together in the last hours, weeks and months leading up to it.
The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) organised the event in collaboration with strategic partners. The theme for the congress is ‘Together Forging Our Future’ and ran for two days.
The guest of honour was Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin.
The National Youth Congress brings together youth representing the government agencies, youth associations and groups, and educational institutions, as well as graduates, students, entrepreneurs and individuals in a supportive environment to share and discuss issues and concerns that affect youth in the country.
The event sees participants producing a joint youth statement and resolution to form the basis for the National Youth Policy, aimed at shaping a brighter future for the nation and its youth.
Three forum sessions were held with various panel members bringing their unique experiences to the forefront of the discussion and later workshops were held across three main topics: Future Ready Youth, Youth Participation and Entrepreneurship.
